How to Start Your Hearing Wellness Journey

On average it takes people seven years from the time they think they might have a hearing loss to the time they seek treatment.  If you think you might have a hearing loss you are not alone. About one in five people in the United States have hearing loss. Acknowledging that you might have hearing loss and accepting that you may need to take action is an important step to starting your hearing wellness journey.

If you suspect you may have hearing loss talk to your family, spouse, and/or friends and see if they’ve noticed any signs- i.e. them having to repeat things to you, turning the television or radio up too loudly etc.

  •  turn up the volume on the TV or car radio?
  • have difficulty hearing on the phone?

  • dread going to noisy parties and restaurants?

If you answered yes to more than one of these questions then it’s a good time to get your hearing checked.  Make an appointment with an Audiologist and figure out whether you have hearing loss and what stage it’s in if you do.
